Link a custom Shopify Button to Checkout

Overview

By pasting the Buy Button embed code into the link destination for a custom button you create in Famous allows you to have full creative control over your design.

Note that this only works for adding a single product to the Shopify shopping cart.

The Shopify Buy Button allows you to add embeddable products, collections and mobile friendly, secure checkout to your Famous projects by pasting the embed code generated by Shopify into the Famous Buy Button element. Please note that In order to use this feature, you must have a Shopify store and active products.

1. Add the Buy Button sales channel in Shopify

If the Buy Button sales channel doesn't appear in the Sales channels section of your Shopify admin, then you need to add it before you can create a new Buy Button or embedded cart.

  1. From your Shopify admin, click the + button beside the Sales channels heading.
  2. On the Add sales channel dialog, click Buy Button to learn more about the sales channel.
  3. Click Add channel.

2. Create a Buy Button in Shopify

Before you create a Buy Button for a product, you must have added the product in your Shopify Admin and made it available to the Buy Button sales channel.

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Buy Button.
  2. Click Create a Buy Button.
  3. Click Product Buy Button.
  4. Select the product from your catalog or use the search to find a product. Click Select.
  5. Optional: customize the Buy Button.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Copy code.

3. Create a custom button element in Famous

  1. Log in to your Famous account.
  2. Create a new project or open an existing project in the Editor.
  3. Click the Graphics icon in the Asset Bar.
  4. Click View All to the right of Shapes.
  5. Drag a rectangle from the Shapes menu onto the screen where you want the button to be displayed.
  6. Customize the button to your specifications.
  7. With the button selected, go to the Link tab in the right inspector.
  8. Click Select a Target to expand the menu then select Shopify Store at the bottom of the list.

4. Paste the copied code from Shopify into Famous

  1. Paste the code that you copied from your Shopify admin into the Shopify Buy Button on the Link tab.
